Apparently National Pie Day is a thing - a thing that I simply must note (and celebrate) on this pie-themed blog. So in honor of National Pie Day, post ideas for a pie you'd like me to make. I will pick the idea I like the most, make it, and write about it. If you think your idea is the best, please explain why (not that it means my decision won't be entirely arbitrary...this is my blog after all).
I demand Key Lime.... no explanation... Key.... LIME

DeleteKey lime is already on here, as are chocolate-dipped key lime piesicles. However, I haven't made bite-size key lime pies yet.
DeleteApple with a crumble crust; send to the loudest person you have ever worked with.
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, you should make a "Scotch Pie" because when I googled hardest pie in the world to make, that is what I came up with.
DeleteAll apple crumble pies should be addressed to my house, not yours, Brennan.
DeleteDoes quiche count?
ReplyDeleteIf not, I propose strawberry pie to be made in May or June. I will come to your side of the state and bring Oscar and homemade vanilla ice cream. We will eat pie and ice cream while the dogs play. Deal?
Quiche counts! Does that change your answer?
DeleteYes! I say make a quiche now to share on your blog. In a couple months, we can follow through with a strawberry pie gathering.
DeleteThis one's easy: meat pie! you have no meats on your pie list!! NO MEATS!!! You could do chicken-pot-pie or one of the many variations of minced meat pie. My personal favorit is made with ground lamb and ground beef, seasoned with onion, pine nutes, nutmeg and cinnamon, and finished with a bit of lemon juice. Its so good. DO IT!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking we should step away from the traditional "sweetie pies" (STL shout out) looking for a FLAVOR TO SAVOR. That's right, you know what I'm talkin' about, MEAT PIE! Every real man, loves to sink his teeth into a tender morsel of flesh. So why not not cover that flesh in coffin of carbohydrates, throw it into an inferno of culinary creation and give birth to one of the greatest inventions of ALL TIME...Time...time. :) Yes, the MEAT PIE. So viscus, so flavorful, so fulfilling...how could you not pick this choice?
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion would be DUCK POT PIE! (Standing on center stage, arms stretched out to the side, mic in my right hand. Open right hand, drop mic to the floor, mic thud sound with slight feedback. Exit smoothly.)
....and I'm out!
Love, Peace and Bacon Grease!
I am going to have to agree with the gents and say meat pie. Duck pot pie- brilliant.
ReplyDeleteBecca, what a keen since for genius you have. Although, I'm not surprised you are a descendant of the Hargraves clan! Brilliance seems to spawn out of thin air in that family.
DeleteCarry-on.
Hare and cherry pie!!
ReplyDeleteOrrr spinach pie!!
Oh TaTa, you and your Hare-Pies! Hahahaha!
DeleteNothin' beats a good Black Bottom Pie.
ReplyDeletelol.
No, for real, it looks tasty.
Tasty tasty black bottom....pie.
